The repetitive motion of a servo while in use places a large burden on each part. The recent development of brushless motors has increased the product life of servo motors dramatically. However, when determining servo position using existing potentiometers, long-period use causes wear inside the potentiometer parts so that smooth linear operation becomes impossible. To address this issue, JR have developed a new type of servo with non-contact position detection using 'Linear Hall ICs' manufactured by Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation which enable postion detection using magnetic force. Using this technology JR has now perfected its next generation 'MPH Series' Linear Hall Sensing Servos.
